~~Wintery Fairy Tales~~ * Two meet-ups*

Hello lovely princesses! <3

I said before that I would attend to meet-ups this weekend and so I did. ^^
It was so much fun! :D  I was the best weekend I have had since months!
* Because most of the time I'm one day veeeeeeeeery lazy and the other day I'm going to do things, like meet-ups or visit my friends*

So...
First of all I'm going to tell you about the BJD meet-up, which was very close to my home, it was
held in Nijmegen so travelling wasn't really awful this time hahaha!
The BJD meet-up was held in the Think Pink shop. It was a sinterklaas meet-up..
Dutch people totally understand what you are going to do when you attend a sinterklaas BJD meet-up,
of course your dolls are going to pull off one shoes and put a wishlist or a drawing or something like that in it and then sinterklaas and his zwarte pieten come to bring presents.
But for non-dutch people it's a strange tradition, so let me explain it a little bit! ^^

Sinterklaas (or more formally Sint Nicolaas or Sint Nikolaas; Saint Nicolas in French; Sankt Nikolaus in German) is a traditional Winter holiday figure still celebrated today in the Low Countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium, as well as French Flanders (Lille), Artois (Arras) and Northern Germany. He is also well known in territories of the former Dutch Empire, including South Africa, Aruba, Suriname, Curaçao, Bonaire, and Indonesia. He is one of the sources of the holiday figure of Santa Claus in North America.
Although he is usually referred to as Sinterklaas, he is also known as De Goedheiligman (The Good Holy Man), Sint Nicolaas or simply as De Sint.
He is celebrated annually on Saint Nicholas' eve (5 December) or on the morning of 6 December in Belgium and Northern France. Originally, the feast celebrates the name day of Saint Nicholas — patron saint of children, sailors, and the city of Amsterdam, among others. Sint Nicholas being a bishop and this geographical spread make clear that the feast in this form has a Roman-Catholic background.

I hope you understand this tradition a little bit now! ^^

I want to show you some pictures from the shop:

Let me show you more pictures of that day:

Soom Migma, she is so pretty *_*

Fly away fashion high tea:

On sunday the fly away fashion* high tea was held in a small village called Houten, that's close to Utrecht for those who want to know that.
I went with my friend Ellis to this meet-up, unfortunately it was troublesome to go to Houten, normally it would take one and a half hour to arrive in Utrecht, this time one of the trains was broken and we couldn't go any further than Arnhem...
Luckily the problems with that train were solved very quickly so we could travel to Houten..
In the end it took us three hours to come there >.<

But it was totally worth it! It was so much fun to meet new people and to see some of the lolitas I already knew. And of course to see everyones outfits. ^^

Pictures from the fly away fashion shop:

First there was a high tea with sandwhiches, scones, cupcakes and more, and then we had some free time to make pictures, to talk to people and of course to shop in their lovely little shop.
After that the owners of the shop showed us their new winter collection, which was very beautiful and I bought this:
The cape
socks

I'm very happy with it! <3

There was also a lotery, you could win nice things,
I didn't win anything but it was very nice of them that they organized it. ^^

What was I wearing on sunday?

together with Lany ^_^

After the meet-up we went to a restaurant of dinner, it was a delicous wok restaurant.
Then it was about time to go home..
Ellis & I on the way back, in the great veolia train:

Ellis wore a nice outfit, unfortunately you can't see it..
I really liked the skirt she wore ^_^

Oh, before I forget it, Ellis is going to make a drawing for me.
She can draw very well! I'm really happy she is going to do that ^__^
It's going be a drawing with me on it in sweet lolita and gothic lolita,
because those styles are my favorite!

Random~~

Sorry for the lack of updates of my blog, I need to do many things...
Sounds like a stupid excuse, but it's how it is.
At the moment my bedroom is being painted and I have to help with that.
Let me tell you it's a lot of work, my bedroom was lemon green, which is an amazing
color only it's awful when it you want to paint your room vanille (?) white.

A picture of the wall paper:

I made a new skirt for myself, it's my first classic lolita item.
I love the print! <3
On the second picture you can see a print close up..

And....
A preview from the things I'm working on:

fabrics, I'm going to make a dress from the red ones and a corset with little wings for the black one.
I can't wait to start working on it!

Work in progress on the pirate hat! :D

No outfit post, I don't feel like doing that today,
I'm afraid something happends with my clothes because of the paint...
Stay tuned, I will post some outfits with my two new skirts and a wintery goth loli outfit very soon!

Living in a picture perfect world

Hello lovely followers! <3

- You can put a picture in a golden frame but in the end it will be the same -

Did I promised you to blog more often? I think I did...
I haven't found much time to blog about something or to get some new ideas for my blog.
I want to change this, I want to have a nice blog and I don't want to disappoint my dear followers!

In this post I want to talk about beauty (and fashion) and how this affect our daily lives.
Why do I want to talk about this? Beauty and fashion isn't that important, it's about what's inside?!
Of course, that's right! At least that's what I think.
Still I think it's something that's really important in the world of young people these days.
Because the industry of fashion and beauty is everywhere, in shops, in the media, on the internet even at your school ect.

In the post the perfect fake lolita I wrote about how I don't like lolitas being too 'fake'. I wrote this post some months ago and it's one of my most popular posts on my blog.
After some months my view on lolitas who look too fake changed, I started to like it somehow.
I don't think dressing yourself like that, is a form of hiding your true self, because if you look around in the big and scary normal world there are people who do exactly the same thing.
How can I compare this to each other?
Lolita and the way other people dress theirselves is a completly different thing, isn't it? Of course it is!
But there are some simularities, more young people start to use more fake items and that's not something that happend from one year to another, it's a slow process.

For example: a few years ago here in Holland only a few people used fake lashes, now there are many girls who use them. * I notice that because I use them myself sometimes, I have such a small eyelashes, even mascara power blablabla won't work!*
First it was only a beauty accessoires  for carnaval and parties.
The same as extensions or fake hair, which is more popular right now.
So I think you can definitely compare this to each other!
I don't think this is a problem, I'm not going to say I don't like people with fake lashes, fake hair, ect. that would be so childish.

To show all of you a personal example:
The first picture is with Photoshop, the other one without Photoshop:

I like to see people who care about their apperance but I hate it when some of them think everyone else have to look PERFECT including his/herself. (mostly herself xD)
That's the real problem and I think it's mostly because of the media, advertisement,popstars/models and the internet and I'm not saying these things or persons are bad. That's ridiculous! But their influence on people and especially young people is big even bigger than you can imagine... unfortunately...

Let me show you something, please watch this short movie. (it's only one minute!)
Credits to dove!

Quite shocking isn't it?
They are not using much make-up but also photoshop and not a little bit.
I wouldn't recoignize this model if I saw her irl..
I'm not saying this is happing all the time, but I'm sure this happens a lot.

I think this gives many people a unrealistic view on beauty.
And it makes me kind of sad, it's more like you have to be like that otherwise you are 'nothing'.
Only how can you look like an ideal 'person' if your ideal image isn't real?
I know not everyone thinks like that, only this give me this sort of feeling..

So why do I worry about this?
I'm not really worrying about this, it's just I don't like this unrealistic view on beauty.
Why do we need Photoshop to look pretty?
Why do more people consider to do plastic surgery?
This won't make any of us more beautiful, because nobody can ever reach this 'fake' beauty unless you want to walk with a computer screen in front of you! XD

I have always looked a little bit different than mainstream people, I'm definitely not a wallflower if you talk about clothes.
I some years ago I wore Gothic clothes and now I wear Lolita.
These days I got the feeling more young people, especially girls, have totally no respect for people who are wearing an other style of clothing.
Again it's more like you have to be like the ideal image...
For me the way I look is very important, you can see how I feel if you look at the way I dress and the make-up I wear.
Only I totally don't get it why some people want to look perfect more than anything because looking perfect isn't possible.
We are just human beings...
I think this is weird, only it's even more weird that some people think other people have to look the way they want.
Blegh, I don't like those people! >.<

I don't think beauty is all about the outside, it's also about the inside. I don't care who you are, what you look like, where you from as long as you are nice to me, it's okay, I will be nice to you. ^_~

For me beauty is also about being individual, being yourself and feeling comfortable about that.
For me, Lolita fashion makes this more easier..
I'm I the only one who thinks the same about this?
Or do you have another opinion??
I would like to hear this!

*Note: Lolita fashion is an example that using fake items and Photoshop becomes more normal these days. I don't mean with this that Photoshop and fake items are bad!

** This post is about my opinion, please don't feel yourself offended!

Strawberries and a bumblebee

Lately I wasn't inspired to write something on my blog..
I'm still not inspired at the moment, I just want to show you some things. ^___^

A few weeks ago, I began to make my first skirt.
I thought it would be awful, that I couldn't wear it but the skirt looks so much
better than I expected! I hope you will like it. ^^
I know it's not perfect, I still need to learn a lot.

Details:

Last sunday my friend and I made some decorative cupcakes, which you can't eat.
Those cupcakes are quite useless because you cannot eat them, but you can keep them for a long time.
And who doesn't want to have a cupcake as decoration?!

This cupcake is cute, isn't it?
My friend made this one, it's such a cute cupcake! ^___^

Now I'm working on a new skirt I showed the fabric on my blog some posts ago, I believe..
Unfortunately there are some problems >.<
And I'm customizing a hat which is going to be a pirate (lolita) hat, it's
much more work than I expected.
My mom is helping me with the hat, decorating hats is harder
than making skirts! xD

Dolls dolls dolls!

(Nearly) All the dolls, mine are not in the picture. I was talking with someone at that time xD

I promised you to show something more of my dolls, these few months I had a sort of lack of inspiration.
So annoying you know, I wanted to design and make clothes and stuff for my dolls, I just couldn't do this.
At the moment I have some more inspiration and I sure this time I'm going to make new stuff for my dolls.
I need to finish Noah, I definitely not happy with his look now.
I'm not going to give up, I like dolls which are not so mainstream, like Noah, his teeth make him more special only it's also a little bit difficult to make him look ''nice'' on pictures.
And why would I give up the hope for Noah? I bought him some months ago with the idea, he was amazing so I think it's going to be okay! Enough about Noah, I believe you don't want to hear anything about him anymore... I talk to much about him, lol! xD

Dolliverse was so much fun, I talked with nice people and saw some friends again.
I forgot my camera again >.<  Luckily, Dieuwke took some beautiful pictures from my dolls:
(I hope you don't mind, I use this pictures on my blog!!)

Oh and one picture from Brenna-Ivy, she makes amazing pictures and has beautiful dolls.
The panda in the picture is Nono and the other cute doll is Alex. Alex is so cute!! <3 Alex belongs to Stievel.

This time no pictures from other dolls because I forgot my camera, I think it's a little bit rude to ''steal''
pictures from someone else when my dolls aren't not on it. So about this pictures in this post: please do not steal them, those are not mine. Ask the real 'owners'! Nono will eat you if you don't ask that! ^_~ (let me tell a secret: she looks cute but she is a evil panda)

Bonus picture:

Kamijo with new hair! :D
I like it more than his old wig. ^^
